CMSA Pauses Indoor season
Good evening Club Presidents,
Today, Nov. 12, 2020, Dr. Hinshaw and Premier Kenney announced new COVID-19 restrictions to the Calgary Zone. We know the following information will be affecting Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) league play:
• The stoppage of indoor team sports from Nov. 13 – 27.
In accordance with the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services (AHS) restrictions, CMSA is pausing the indoor season. We will continue to work with AHS to ensure that we adhere to their guidelines and that we are ready to return to the league with the restrictions are lifted.
The safety of players and the soccer community is paramount and remains our priority. The possibility of rescheduling any games that will be affected by this break will be evaluated as we receive more information. Going into the season, CMSA knew that we could face pauses and restarts in our season, CMSA staff is prepared to resume competition when the environment allows.
To be clear, all indoor team sports are not permitted, this includes both competitive play and team training.
We want to return to play as soon as it is safe to do so. As more information from AHS and Alberta Soccer Association becomes available, CMSA will communicate with the clubs and teams.
