CMSA LEAGUE (with Calgary Minor Soccer Association) for U7-U19 League Players

Players can register with CWSC for the city-wide Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) League. The Calgary West Soccer Club will endeavor to place players at the appropriate level of play based on the number of players and conventional pyramid concepts as well as technical assessment and prior knowledge of player skills.

Indoor 2021 -2022 Program Details

  • Training Season runs from October 18, 2021 to April 8, 2021.  Scheduled Breaks are:

    • December 18 through January  7

    • March 18 through April 3

  • We are thrilled to be able to provide most training sessions on turf fields

  • Early start times for turf sessions  and training free weekends (other than scheduled games)

  • A development focused program building onto the Pro Pathway for Soccer

  • For players U7 – Pro Amateur

  • Phase Managers with a Coach Education program that will be implemented in all phases

  • Age-appropriate technical curriculum and high-level technical plan 

  • All training sessions at the Calgary West Soccer Centre, Viper Dome , Shouldice (January 2022 onward) and other NW indoor facilities.

  • Full uniform  for practices and games will be purchased individually by members at our retail partner and mandatory for every training and game event on field.

AYSL League 

  • evaluations will take place to form a 2007 boys and 2007 girls to participate in our first season within the AYSL league.  All players interested or with questions can contact Nather (nather@calgarywestsoccer.com)

U7/U8/U9 CMSA Program

  • Season starts October 30 and goes until February 26, 2021

  • 1 match date per week on Saturdays, quadrant based.  7 match days before winter break and  match days after winter break

  • There are no try outs for U7/U8/U9.  Players will be placed in teams by the technical teams observations over the first few sessions.

  • U7/U8/U9 teams are boys or girls, no mixed teams

  • High quality ADIDAS CWSC Club Wear is available at Kicks.

  • Volunteer coaches are  encouraged to take NCCP Certification courses offered by Alberta Soccer Association through CMSA. All fees are covered by CWSC. Please refer to the CMSA website for NCCP Certification requirements for the Indoor 2019/20 season and beyond.

CMSA U10-U19 Program

Players can register with CWSC for the city-wide Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) League. The Calgary West Soccer Club will endeavor to place players at the appropriate level of play based on the number of players and conventional pyramid concepts as well as technical assessment and prior knowledge of player skills.

  • Season starts October 30 and goes until early to early March, depending on level of play as per CMSA schedules with weekly games.

  • U10-U19 teams will participate in the CMSA league with games played on the following days of the week:

    • U10 Developmental (Formally Tier A/B) (futsal): Saturdays and/or Tuesdays

    • U10 Recreational (Formally Tier C/D) (arena): Sunday and/or Wednesdays

    • U11 Developmental (Formally Tier 1/2) (futsal): any day of the week

    • U11 Recreational (Formally Tier 3/4) (arena): any day of the week

    • U2 Tier 1 -2 (futsal): any day of the week

    • U12 Tier 3-5  (arena): any day of the week

    • U13-17 Tier 1-3 (7V7): any day of the week

    • U13-17 Tier 4-5 (arena): any day of the week

    • U19 Tier 2-4 (7V7): Saturdays

  • The number of games will vary across age groups and divisions, this is determined by CMSA

  • All Club members must purchase player kits (jersey, shorts, socks) from KICKS (more details to follow closer to season starting) at very reasonable cost

  • High quality ADIDAS Club Wear is also available at Kicks.

  • Many our teams are coached by volunteer coaches, who are primarily parents of players on the team. Without a coach, we cannot run teams. So please consider stepping up to coach a team.

  • We will support our volunteer coaches with coaching education, and a Phase Manager who will be working directly with your age group.

Important Dates:

  • Regular gym permits start in mid-October, depending on the facility.

  • CMSA League Dates:

    • Oct 27: Schedules available on CMSA website for games up until winter break

    • Oct 30: League play starts

    • Dec 18- Jan 7: Mid-season break (no league games)

    • Jan 6: Schedules available on CMSA website for balance of 2022 indoor games

    • Jan 8: League games resume

    • Feb 26: U10-U19 Season games end

    • Feb 26: U7/8/9 Season games end 

    • Feb 26: U7-U11 Grassroots Rally

    • Feb 28-March 4: U12 Tier 1-4, U13/15 Tier 5: Final 4 Competition

    • Post Season U13-U17 Provincial Competitions: TBD

    • Team training runs until April 8, 2022

Registration Details:

Registration for the CMSA program runs from September 1 to September 22, 2021.

Early Bird Prices in effect until September 14, 2021.  

Late registration fees take place September 15, 2021 onwards for all CMSA  registrations.

 

Registrations are not considered completed until payment has been completed.

Please note: CMSA players who have not paid their registration fees will be deregistered with CMSA by December 1 for the indoor season.

Please access our online registration link opening September 1 for CMSA. We will continue to offer credit card payments with online registrations. Cheques will still be accepted, but members are strongly encouraged to utilize the convenience of online payment.

Late fees: A late fee of $25 will be applied after September 14 for all CMSA registrations.
