Head Coach Fees:

Our Technical Director and Head Coaches are assigned to coach a number of our teams. Due to the high volume of work involved in coaching teams, we are instituting a Head Coach fee of $100 per player per season for any U9-U19 team coached by a Head Coach. This fee will be distributed amongst the operational budget and fees paid to the Head Coaches. We recognize this is an added fee for those players, however, we hope that players and members recognize the high degree of quality training they will benefit from, as part of their long-term development.

Note, because our Head Coaches coach multiple teams, there will be conflicts with other teams. Teams with paid Head Coaches can expect that their Head Coach will attend a minimum of 80% of team practices and games. Head coaches will work with assistant/parent coaches to follow the Club’s development philosophy and pathway.

CWSC notes that in the open boundary system prevalent in Calgary, the need to strategically place our professional coaches as team coaches is paramount. We reserve the right to assign coaches strategically. For teams which are not assigned a Head Coach, we endeavor to find non- parent, experienced soccer players as volunteer coaches, and we provide a small honorarium to those coaches. For those teams with parent coaches, we provide team support and player development through our Head Coaches.
