Milan Bartosz

MB.jpg
Milan Bartosz’s diverse soccer career spans over 4 decades. His playing career began in the Czech Republic with Trinec in the Czech Elite League. This led to being drafted by the number one youth club in the Czech Republic (Banik Ostrava), which in turn, led to being called up to the Czech National U17 team. Upon defection from the Czech Republic in 1969, Milan found home in Calgary, where he played in the Alberta Major Soccer League and later in the Premier Division as well as with the Alberta Provincial Select Teams for over 12 years. He also represented Alberta at the Canada Summer Games and Western Canada Summer Games. At the amateur club level, he played against visiting teams from Germany (Borussia  Monchengladbach), Scotland (Hibernian) and Ireland. Milan was also a member of Calgary's first Club National Champions (1973), the Springer Kickers. Calgary's first professional soccer team, the Calgary Boomers, offered Milan a professional contract but he chose to pursue post secondary education instead. more ......
