U8 Academy with Nigel Brattle
Our sessions will consist of the following four parts:
Warm Up - Each practice will start with a warm-up session that builds in some running and lots of interactive and competitive games, with an introduction to some stretching to promote good habits.
Ball Handling - Drills to develop basic ball handling skills.
Co-Ordination - Co-ordination development at this age is critical and special drills to promote agility and flexibility.
Motivational Games - Skills are taught through motivational games which have an element of fun around which the kids will learn basic skills. This part of the session is really important and will hopefully cement their enjoyment of soccer and keep them coming back for more.
Game -The practice ends with a variety of games designed to teach fundamental game skills, competition and the beginning of team work.
Topics covered - Agility, Co-ordination, reactions, dribbling, ball control, passing, shooting, ball transport, heading, throw ins, 1 vs 1.
