CMSA League Premier and Competitive

Season starts early October and goes until early to mid March, depending on level of play as per CMSA schedules.

  • Try Outs balancing independent and team coach evaluations with each player participating in 2 sessions (early September)
  • Will include 2 tournaments – 1vs 1 and 3 vs 3 - Jan 4th and March 15th
  • Team support from the Head Coach to ensure as much support as possible for team coaches and to directly impact on team learning and performance during the season.
  • Intensive NCCP Coaching Development course in the pre season (September 27-28)
  • Academy for premier players at extra cost with our Head Coaches (10 sessions of 1.5 hours each) on the following dates: Oct 26, Nov 2, 9, 23, 30, Jan 18,25, Feb 1, 8, Mar 1 between 2:30 and 8:30 pm
  • CMSA league play as per CMSA schedules (typically 15-18 games per team plus post season play depending on results)
  • Weekly team practices of 1.5 hours each
  • Additional team practices at extra team cost to book facility or free use of CWSC facilities if available any particular week.
  • U8 teams – can be boys, girls or mixed. Please indicate your preference at time of registration
  • High quality UMBRO shorts and socks to keep.
  • High quality ADIDAS Club Wear available at Kicks Sporting Goods.

Try Outs and Team Formation

  • Continuation of our try out and team formation protocol – which has been very successful in placing players at the right competitive level. See Try Out Protocol summary in our newsletter
  • First try out will be Saturday, September 6 at the YMCA fields (outdoors)
  • Second try out will be September 10-13 (Calgary West Soccer Centre)
  • Players placed by September 21st
  • Coaches placed the week of September 22
  • Gym practices allocations made the Sept 27
  • Equipment hand out Sept 28th
  • Teams practicing by the week of September 29th.
  • Sat Oct 18 - Games commence (Tier II and below)

The set days of play for CMSA Development (U10), Competitive (U12+) and Premier (U12+) for indoor 2008/9 are pasted below. 

U8's will play Saturdays or Sundays only. Note: U8’s will play at the North East Sports Facility and the CWSC (West Soccer Centre)

U10 Tier A – Wednesday and Sunday


U10 Tier B – Monday and Saturday

U10 Tier C – Thursday and Sunday

 

U12 Comp A – Wednesday and Sunday

U12 Comp B – Tuesday and Saturday

 

U14 Comp A – Tuesday and Saturday

U14 Comp B - Wednesday and Sunday



Premier

U12 Premier will be scheduled on any day of the week.

U14 Premier will be scheduled on any day of the week.

U16 Premier will be scheduled on any day of the week.
