Community House League – U8-U18 (Recreational program)

For this Outdoor Season, we will continue to offer the recreational Inter-Community House League program (ICHL), as well as our Super U8 ICHL Program.

This recreational league is intended to provide a community based program for U10-U18 with the added spice of inter-community rivalry. The ICHL/Recreational component of the Calgary West Soccer Club is a continuation of each community’s house league for those players that do not want to move up to the competitive program. We coordinate the league for all players in the U10 to U18 age categories.

We are also offering the Super U8 ICHL division intended to provide that extra level of competition for U8 players that have grown out of the regular U8 house league format.  This program is intended for U8 players that have played soccer before, either a number of years in the Outdoor U6-8 house league program, or the U8 indoor CMSA league.  These U8 teams will play on U10 fields in a 7v7 format with referees and will have a weekly practice on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 on one of our communities fields, and play 1 game a week on saturdays from 1:00-2:30.  Note this is not a city wide league so teams will play against each other within the partner communities of CWSC.

Most, if not all, U10 games are played within your current community or a surrounding community (Arbour Lake, Bowness, Citadel, Hawkwood, Ranchlands, Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak, Silver Springs, Scenic Acres, Tuscany and Valley Ridge). Due to the number of players that continue to play declining at the higher age groups, we are also part of a NW community group (ICL – Inter Community League) which allows us to play against more communities. This group does require some travel to other NW communities to play your games.

The one nice thing about being a part of Calgary West is that our communities provide a large number of the teams and many games are played within our communities. As we form the teams at all age groups, we do take into consideration requests to play with certain players as well as which community you come from, to help alleviate the problem of driving.

The U10 and U12 age groups will have one game and one practice per week.  The U14’s will have two games per week, and practices may be called on extra days or will be on bye nights.

Depending on your coach you may be required to get there 15 to 30 minutes before the start to have a warm-up.

Dates:

Season starts the end of April and closes the end of June.

Cost:

$105 for all ages includes full uniform, wrap up and photos.  $25 late fee as of March 2 (placement is first come, first served for available spaces)

Coach Development:

For all prospective coaches, please note that coaching development sessions will be held on the April 11/12 weekend at the Calgary West Soccer Centre. U4-U8 HL coaches will participate in 3 hour Mini Clinics and will be provided with a season coaching manual. ICHL coaches will participate in the CWSC-BFUT Level 4 course on April 15-17. All ICHL coaches will be provided with a Levle 4 manual and access to the Level 4 Online Coach Course.

All coaches should attend. Please mark these dates on your calendar. Details will be e-mailed to you and a schedule posted to the website closer to the time. Online sign up will also be available.
