Rescheduling Games Due to Field Closure (i.e. Inclement Weather)

U8 uses community fields

No Rescheduling

U10 Development Tier A, B and C, U 12 Tier 1-6, and U14 Tiers 5-6 and U16  (Tier 6) games use community fields and must follow the following rescheduling protocol

If teams have to reschedule due to rain outs/bad field conditions (only), please follow the following process:

1. The home team needs to contact the away team to set up a new date and time. You may want to have a few options.

2. With these options, then contact our Game Scheduler at gamescheduler@calgarywestsoccer.comto let her/him know that you are not playing the scheduled game and that you are rescheduling. She/he can then let the referee know that the game is cancelled/rescheduled. Request a field and referee for your first, second, and third choices. Note this is not a guarantee that a referee is available.

3. After our Game Scheduler gives you a confirmed date/field, contact the away team and confirm the date and location.

Note: Do not contact our Game Scheduler unless you have contacted the away team and arrived at some dates and time. If you contact our Game Scheduler to request a field, and then tell our Game Scheduler that you now have to confirm this with the away team, you will be pushed to the end of the line to get a field and referee. There are many teams asking for fields for reschedule games, so we need to minimize the amount of work for ur Game Scheduler!

4. Contact CMSA at rescheduling@calgaryminorsoccer.com and inform CMSA of the new game information so the website can be updated.

U14 Tier 1-4, U16 Tier 1-5 U18 Tier 1-5 use City fields and must follow the following rescheduling protocol

1. The home team shall contact CMSA letting them know of the field closure and CMSA will reschedule the game, if possible.

Referees are supplied by CMSA so you do not need to contact our Game Scheduler.

All Other Rescheduling Requests

All levels of Play - all requests must initially be submitted via email to CMSA at rescheduling@calgaryminorsoccer.com stating the reason for the reschedule. (Note: players on vacation and because the coach cannot attend the games is not a valid excuse for rescheduling.) If this initial request is approved, the team requesting the reschedule must follow all of the following steps:

1. Contact the opposition team and find out if they will agree to reschedule.

2. Find a new date, time, and suitable field to play this rescheduled game (ie request a field from CWSC at gamescheduler@calgarywestsoccer.com). Note CWSC may not have a properly qualified referee - if not, see Step 3.

3. Find an ASA registered and certified referee (and two assistant referee for U16 and U18 Tier I's) who are properly qualified to, and is willing to officiate your game. If you want CMSA to find referees for you for a rescheduled game, there will be a $50 fee.

4. Email all of this info (the original game information AND the new game information including referees names) to CMSA at rescheduling@calgaryminorsoccer.com. CMSA MUST receive all the information no later than 3 full business days prior to the original game orprior the rescheduled game date (whichever game comes first).

5. If approved, teams will receive a game update email, and the game will be changed on the website schedule. It is NOT approved until the website is changed.

*Note: CMSA CANNOT give you contact information for referees due to our privacy policy (PIPA). We suggest you contact your club or community field and referee coordinator for help with this as most referees that do indoor games also do outdoor games. Also you can talk to the referees at the soccer fields to see if they will do your rescheduled game. Once you have all this information, you must get the other team to confirm it.

TO RECAP: Email all of this info (the original game information AND the new game information including referees names) to Jennifer at CMSA. She MUST receive all the information no later than 3 full business daysprior to the original game orprior the rescheduled game date (whichever game comes first). ANY RESCHEDULING REQUESTS OR EMAILS THAT COME IN AFTER THIS DEADLINES WILL NOT BE APPROVED or ENTERTAINED.
