CWSC coaches should note the following requirements for coaching certification:
Provincials Coaching Requirement Changes (By Indoor Provincials 2012)
Alberta Soccer is working to improve the coaching standards for soccer in Alberta. Currently, the rules outlined in the 2011 Provincial Rulebook are being followed. However, the following two year plan is currently being discussed by the membership and pending approval:
- By Indoor 2012 Provincials, all Coaching Staff (including assistant coaches) for Tier I teams going to CSA Club Nationals must have the full community coach certification (Child + Youth + Senior coaching course = Full Community Coach Certification)
- Teams going to CSA Club Nationals include: U14, U16, and U18 Tier I teams, AMSL, Masters and Classic I
- By Indoor 2012 Provincials, Head Coaches for Tier II-VI teams must have the appropriate community coach certification level:
- Child Community Coach U8, U10, U12 ( all Tiers from Tier V and lower)
- Youth Community Coach for U12 – U14 (all Tiers from Tier II - IV)
- Senior Community Coach for U16 – U18 (all Tiers from Tier II - IV and all Senior Men & Women teams)
- In 2012, all Head and Assistant Coaches must have the age-appropriate community coach certification level.
